The Art The 404 original works of art created for the book are black ink and marker on 9.25" x 12.5" paper. For each of Hokusai's "100 Views of Mt. Fuji," L.J.C. Shimoda created four interpretations­two single frame and one double frame illustration. Her interpretations are a muse on the similarity of Hokusai's thoughts to hers, a depiction of his scene with modern components, a study of an intriguing detail, or purely an idea she imagined from viewing the scene.
