Interpretive poetry contest for
THE FOURTH TREASURE

In the novel, one of the main characters, Hanako Suzuki, a former student of the calligraphy sensei, interpretes his abstract drawings that he creates after he has a stroke. Using short, haiku-esque poems, Hanako believes she understands what he is trying to communicate. For example, the poem for the background image on this page is:

Reposed in respite
I feel regal
benignly in control

The contest's deadline has passed, and the winners have been chosen. Congratulations to Joann, LeAnn,and Micky! Their poems are displayed with the brush art images. Take a look and see how wonderfully they did. Congratulations, winners, and thank you for your participation and talent!
